„Mundräubern“ is a concept developed by the platform www.mundraub.org. The platform tries to raise awareness for the variety of food available for free in our woods and fields in rural areas. By going on “Pick & Berry Tours” people may discover unknown and unimposing places they didn’t know before that offer real natural treasures.

STERN is the first hotel, which offers its guests special Pick & Berry Tours to discover such natural treasures. Equipped with a picnic basket and a map our guests search for hidden finding spots and may enjoy their yield (wild herbs, berries, elder flower, nuts or fruits) right on the spot or take it back to the hotel. The chefs at STERN are always happy to welcome the guests with their treasures in the hotel kitchen, to taste what has been found and to discuss creative methods how to cook and process the self-picked ingredients.

By the way, everyone is free to tag the finding spots via ipad at www.mundraub.org, while being in the sauna area “Unter de Sternd’n” or while having a nice evening at the restaurant.

The new STERN.Gardens hide many specialities. Apart from a farmers garden with fresh fruit and vegetables and a flower garden, we also have a huge area for herbs. One can not only find herbs for cooking or medicine, but also rare types that have almost been forgotten.

Together with our herbs expert, STERN.Guests get an insight into the world of alpine herbs. They can also try on spot to use the herbs for cooking and, of course, try their creations afterwards.

Together with farmers and rural interest groups we want to offer STERN.Guests an insight into the daily work in alpine areas and how we try to maintain our natural landscape.

Our guests can take part in everything: afforesting and caring for our meadow orchards, pruning and cleaning our “Larchwiesen”-fields or helping during the hay season. Especially in spring and autumn there is a lot of work and STERN.Guests are always welcome.
