Gruenberg – the adventurous kids skiing area
The Gruenberg-mountain at the Mieminger plateau knows how to combine parents’ longings and children’s’ needs. While the adults enjoy a ski tour, the kids participate in their first skiing course in the protected area of the Gruenberg kid’s park. It’s also a perfect location to improve the kids’ skiing skills, train for their first skiing race or try out another winter sport like ice-skating or tobogganing together with one of the Sternchen Club carers.
The adventure-kids-area Grünberg is a small skiing area that can easily be overseen, which makes it perfect for families with children. The area has a snow guarantee and offers ideal equipment for children (magic carpet, beginner’s lift and T-bar lift). NEW: Ice skating rink, Zipfelbob sled and tobogganing run.
For very good skiers there are several impressive skiing areas in the surroundings of the plateau (min. 20 min by car). Moreover, there is a free ski shuttle bus to the skiing area Hochoetz (over 2,200 m) and our guests can go on ski tours. Several cross-country ski runs and winter hiking paths lead from Gruenberg Mountain all over the sunny plateau.

Ski touring
Hardly any winter sport has become as popular in the last few years as ski touring. It combines physical challenges with silence and nature.
Security is definitely the most important component: STERN.Guests learn step by step what they need to know for a relaxed and secure ski tour. Professional ski tour guides explain the single levels of difficulty and show you how to use the equipment: skis, skins and avalanche rescue gear. The first tour then takes place on the Gruenberg Mountain (1,000 - 1,500 m) which provides perfect conditions for beginners.
If you feel secure enough, you can then also do a tour on your own. Parents get a packing list for adequate ski-tour clothing and effective weather protection. The professional ski-tour equipment can be borrowed for free.
